Outlook 2019 keeps asking for microsoft account free
I have Exchange and Outlook on a domain connected computer. Outlook keeps prompting for a password, as soon as I click on Needs Password it connects without me entering anything. Just to prompt me again a few hours later. I also get a message: This feature needs to connect to the internet. Do you want to allow Office to connect to the internet? I do not have any add-ins installed. It feels like Outlook is trying to connect to O I have unchecked the option to let Outlook connect to online services but still the problem persists.
Any help is appreciated! Since I have entered this key, I have not had Outlook prompt me for a password. Hope this helps someone else!!! Its 3 computers actually. They are new Win 10 computers with Office installed. The other computers are Outlook or and do not have this issue. Click Privacy Options, and then select the Let Office connect to online services from Microsoft to provide functionality that’s relevant to your usage and preferences check box.
Click OK two times to close the Outlook Options dialog box. Note If the Let Office connect to online services from Microsoft to provide functionality that’s relevant to your usage and preferences check box is unavailable, see the “More Information” section, below, for additional details about this setting.
It was occurring when that checkbox was checked initially. I had unchecked it as a suggestion from another forum. I will try it again as I cannot remember if the Prompt to connect to the internet happened before the checkbox was unchecked.
The main problem is that it keeps prompting for a password. This is a desktop computer with a hardwired network connection. I will send screenshots the next time it happens.
This seems to have worked temporarily. I came into the office on Monday and Outlook would not connect to Exchange at all. I tried a bunch of different things to get it to work but was not successful. When it prompted me to enter my password, I entered my Microsoft credentials and then Outlook would connect to exchange. Why is Outlook forcing me to authenticate with their servers when I am only trying to connect to my on-prem Exchange server.
Please help. Unchecking that box worked for a few days. I know this is an old post but after 5 hours of trying 10 different solutions to resolve this issue on 3 different laptops I finally found one that worked like a charm on this page”. I added the Key. Will try on a few other computers that are having the same problem. This registry key is one way to fix it, but for me, rather than deploy it to several users I have opted to take away their “Exchange Online” license in the O admin portal and that also solved the problem for me.
You have an on-premise Exchange mailbox, but Outlook is detecting the Office account even though the Autodiscover is not pointed to Office I have the same issue. I am running Outlook on Windows Can you give me the key that it actually changes? I ran the patch and it fixed the issue but it’s not showing in the registry key.
Never run anything you don’t know what its doing. Registry files should be inspected before applying them. Registry keys affected:.
With Office released I wanted to add my experience to this thread. I have never had this issue before. None of my Office installs ever demanded a login for O and still don’t.
However while testing Office I came across this exact issue. While inside my network at my office it doesn’t prompt for an O login.
It connects to my on-premise Exchange and works fine. However if that laptop leaves the office or if I install Office on an outside machine then all of a sudden it prompts for an O login. Bring the laptop back to the office, it stops asking and works fine. Again, all previous versions of Office even outside the network never did this. This issue is very odd with how infrequently and randomly it comes about. The provided regkey worked perfectly! Thank you!
